This time I'm rounding up Hitooshi's discounts and the current campaign situation, checked directly against the official site and the members-only pages!

"If I'm going to join, I want the best timing" or "isn't there a coupon somewhere?" — that's what you're thinking, right?

Here's the short answer: the big summer campaign that waived the entire sign-up fee closed on Sunday, August 30. What you can reliably use now are two things — the invitation code (5,000 yen off the sign-up fee) and the U29 offer for women 29 and under.

As of September 2026, the official channels list two offers.

Let's go through them one by one.

The summer matchmaking support campaign — sign-up fee 0 yen plus a half-price 2nd month — ran through Sunday, August 30, and is no longer accepting applications.

If you registered your basic information and booked your first interview within the period, the official guidance was that the campaign still applies even with an interview date in September or later — so all that's left is to take the interview. I covered what it asks in my article on the first interview questions and flow.

"So should I just wait for the next free campaign?" — I'll get to that in the section on past campaigns below, but the short version is that nobody, including the official channels, has announced when the next one comes.

Now for the friend referral part. Hitooshi has an invitation code system: enter a code when you join and the 17,800 yen sign-up fee drops by 5,000 yen. This isn't a limited-time thing — it's the standing discount that works in normal periods too.

It's a 3-step process.

One note: while a big campaign is running, the setup can change to "entering an invitation code applies that campaign instead" (that's exactly what happened with the summer campaign in August). The application screen always shows the current perk, so give it a glance before entering the code.

Also, whether campaigns can be combined with each other is a completely separate question from using Hitooshi alongside other services like dating apps — the latter is not prohibited by the terms. Women aged 29 or under also have the U29 campaign on the official site: the sign-up fee drops by 5,000 yen to 12,800 yen. Now that the big summer campaign is over, this and the invitation code are the two doors in for those who qualify.

The discount amount is the same as the invitation code's, so whichever door you enter through, the math doesn't change. For age requirements and which regions the service covers, see my article on service areas and joining requirements.

If you search around you'll see the query "Hitooshi coupon", but I couldn't find any coupon codes officially distributed.

"What about signing up through a points site like Hapitas or Moppy?" — I combed through the major Japanese cashback sites too, and not a single Hitooshi listing showed up (as of late August 2026). There's no student discount either.

Which means that right now, no route beats the 5,000 yen discount from the invitation code (or U29). Rather than hunting for a detour, the 3 steps in "How to join with an invitation code" above are your best bet.

Some pages out there still display invitation codes of unknown origin. You won't know whether they're valid until you try entering them, so be careful. The code in this article is the one shown on my own members-only invitation page.

Hitooshi's campaigns run irregularly. Recently the timeline looked like this.

• January 2026: New Year matchmaking campaign — sign-up fee waived + 1st month half price (until January 25)
• August 2026: Summer matchmaking support campaign — sign-up fee waived + 2nd month half price (until August 30), with an Amazon gift card giveaway running on X at the same time

The pattern: big "sign-up fee waived" offers arrive at moments when people start looking, like New Year and summer.

So is waiting for the next window the right call? Honestly, it's a tough one... No next date has been announced, and starting a few months later pushes every encounter a few months later too. Personally, I'd rather start with the 5,000 yen discount and work in a focused burst than wait — the monthly fees from a longer stint dwarf the difference in discounts.
