Why I Started Using Hitooshi

#

I decided to try Hitooshi because I thought I could meet people for marriage purposes without spending as much time as I would on dating apps!

While dating apps are relatively affordable and accessible for meeting people, they require quite a bit of time investment. Writing profiles, preparing photos, sending daily "likes," and so on.

Personally, I felt that the results didn't justify the time spent 😇 Though I admit my specs might be part of the problem...

I work as an engineer in Tokyo, and I wanted to study technology on weekends too, so I was looking for a service that would let me balance both when I discovered Hitooshi!

Hitooshi has matching planners who introduce people that match your preferences. So all I need to do is coordinate schedules and I can talk with potential partners online. The fact that I can meet people without spending much time is what I find most appealing personally.

Activity Flow

#

1. Initial Counseling

#

After registering with Hitooshi, the first thing I did was have an initial counseling session with a matching planner. It's a whopping 2 hours long!!

During this counseling, the planner thoroughly interviewed me about my personality, hobbies, values, and ideal partner.

Questions are sent in advance, so I recommend organizing your thoughts beforehand! If you're vague, the planner won't know what kind of person to look for.

After this interview, there's an admission screening. I don't know the screening criteria, but I'll just mention that I was able to join with the following specs:

Face: (You can imagine...) Age: Late 20s Height: Late 160cm range Income: Middle level

Writing this makes me sad... I'm far from being high-spec...

I hope this serves as a reference!

2. Partner Profile Introduction and Online Meeting

#

After that, the planner introduces candidates and sends their profiles.

The main items in the partner's profile include:

  1. Age
  2. Height
  3. Income
  4. Job description
  5. The planner's impression of that person

I want to mention this: you won't know what your partner looks like until the day of the meeting! This might be concerning for some people. If having a handsome guy or beautiful woman is your top priority, this service might not be for you 😇

"Only 2 people per month!? Introduce me to more!" I thought, but if you match with even one person, you'll be scheduling meetings every week, so it's actually a good number!

There are options available for those who want more introductions, so they can accommodate flexibly.

After coordinating schedules through the system, the day finally arrives for the online meeting via Zoom.

Maybe it was just me, but I thought the planner would sit in for the first 10 minutes or so of the online meeting, but that wasn't the case 😅 You suddenly have a one-on-one online meeting, so one of you has to break the ice and lead the conversation. It really feels like being thrown into the wilderness... I was super nervous during my first meeting.

After talking for about 30 minutes, you close Zoom and the online meeting ends.

After this, you respond to a form asking "Do you want to exchange contact information with your partner?" If both parties express interest in exchanging contacts, you'll receive the other person's LINE QR code later. Then you can arrange dates and continue communicating through LINE.

If you're rejected, you can also get feedback from the planner through the official LINE.

That's the general flow that repeats!

Who Should Use This Service

#

People Who Have Other Things They Want to Do

#

I work as an engineer in Tokyo, and I spend time on weekdays and weekends learning new technologies and improving myself. In this situation, it's quite difficult to spend long hours on dating apps, and I was wondering if I could find meetings more efficiently. That's when I discovered "Hitooshi." The system where you just tell the planner your preferences, lifestyle, and ideal partner type in advance, and they select perfect partner candidates for you - it's like having a modern-day matchmaking auntie preparing wonderful encounters for you. It's great!

For people who have many other things they want to do, like work, hobbies, or family time, I think Hitooshi's system is perfect! Since you can save the time and effort of searching for your ideal partner from scratch on apps, it's truly an ideal service for busy people.

However, this is both an advantage and a disadvantage. For those who want to carefully choose partners themselves or enjoy the partner selection process itself, Hitooshi's system might feel unsatisfying. Therefore, if you find joy in searching for partners while setting detailed conditions yourself, another service might be better suited for you.

People Without Specific Detailed Requirements

#

Speaking about Tokyo, on dating apps, you have to set numerous detailed conditions like age, occupation, hobbies, and education to find your ideal partner, resulting in displays like "Search results: 9999+" where you can't narrow down at all. This leads to forcefully narrowing down conditions and missing out on potential meeting opportunities.

On the other hand, Hitooshi doesn't just focus on numerical or quantitative status, but also considers personality, atmosphere, and qualitative appeal that's hard to express in numbers or digitally, like "I feel comfortable being with this person." Since you can consult directly with the planner about details, you can properly convey your wishes.

Final Thoughts

#

That's my experience with Hitooshi. Personally, I think it's a pretty good service and I hope it becomes more popular!
